About this time of year we often pay a visit to the Tom Mix Memorial on Highway 79. It’s always a good spot for lupines, mallows, and if the timing is just right an amazing field of hedgehog cactus in bloom. The wildflowers were out in all their glory but we were just a bit ahead of the cactus flowers this time.
