Poppy Pathway

dateline 8 March 2015

A Sunday drive out Ajo Way led us to the conclusion that we’re just on the early side for the poppies – with one exception. To the south of Ajo Way, around milepost 158 to 150, a segment of gas pipeline has been seeded with wildflowers making quite a show. The colors are¬†primarily purple and gold with salvia & poppies. If you take the drive, don’t forget to look out for the bright yellow lesquerella (moved to the genus Physaria) which has a delightful honey-like smell on a warm day.
